Hemp F*CK ICE Whistle & 4/20 Fundraiser

Hemp F*CK ICE Whistle & 4/20 Fundraiser

Lauren Gibbs |

Root for Hemp is proud to announce our limited edition Hemp F*CK ICE Safety Whistles launching for 4/20. Before Root for Hemp started 3D printing hemp whistles, we were quietly responding to protect immigrant neighbors. Our founder connected with the Colorado Rapid Response Network (CORRN), which operates Colorado’s ICE sighting hotline: (844) 864-8431. After CORRN training, she recognized the urgent need to raise bystander awareness. The solution: See something? Say something! She printed the hotline on plant-based whistles and distributed 855, emphasizing the hotline as the most important whistle.

“Like so many Americans I watched in horror as ICE terrorized Minneapolis. After the unlawful killings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, many were shaken with fear. We cannot let fear silence us. Raising awareness about the CORRN Hotline felt incredibly urgent. With a borrowed 3D printer in my basement, I was cranking out whistles with the hotline printed on them. My dentist office, my vet, my chiropractor, all wanted bags for their whole staff. Several advocates in my network started picking up 50 at a time. They were so popular that it sparked the idea of selling hemp whistles as a fundraiser to support CORRN.”

Last year in Colorado, ICE arrested 4,750 immigrants; 38% had no criminal history, according to the Denver Post. During the same period, CORRN received approximately 10,000 hotline calls. With ICE activity escalating in 2026, the network has received 819 calls and documented 38 ICE raids in our communities. Reliable witness reports to the hotline are critical to this work.

Jordan Garcia, an organizer with  the Colorado Rapid Response Network shares some more ways to help:

CORRN started in Colorado in 2017 and since then we have seeded rapid response networks across the country. When a bystander calls the hotline, volunteers across the state are mobilized to the scene. We offer training for volunteers to become incident confirmers, legal observers, and if they're bilingual, hotline dispatchers. Volunteers can also help raise awareness about the hotline through actions like hanging posters in their local shops or community centers. If you are outside of Colorado and looking for ways to help, first look for organizations like ours that already exist and find ways to volunteer with them. When we step forward to defend our communities, it's a good feeling.

Colorado-based Root for Hemp sells hemp household goods, while advocating for community care and restorative justice. Our community-first ethic drove us to launch Hemp F*CK ICE Safety Whistles as a fundraiser for frontline volunteers protecting our immigrant community. For every hemp whistle sold, $1.20 will be donated to CORRN. Every hemp whistle shipped to Colorado will include a free plant-based whistle with the hotline.

Gibbs sees a direct connection to cannabis culture:

“Cannabis culture has always been rooted in community, and it is high time we get back to those roots. We stand in a circle not just to pass the joint, but the formation allows us to watch each other’s backs. A culture forged through prohibition necessitated community vigilance. This community is already practiced in community vigilance, so this 420, I want to empower stoners everywhere to use that skill to tell on ICE to protect our communities.”

Root for Hemp will be hosting a pop up on Monday 4/20 from 11-2 at Good Bones Coffee in Denver, home of the F*ck Ice Latte.
