Mission and Values

Root for Hemp is not just a lifestyle, it is a movement

  • On a Mission

Root for Hemp is on a mission to help earth-lovers get their hands on hemp for everyday household and lifestyle needs. We know that personal experience with hemp will help open people’s minds about this wonder weed. We are here to empower everyone to make sustainable choices in small ways in your everyday household needs and habits. Root for Hemp is committed to educating consumers and change-makers on how to be an everyday advocate for the plant, so we create easy and fun ways for you to spark up conversations about hemp in your life.

  • Sustainable Choices

Sustainability is at the center of everything we do. Everyday we choose to work in support of Mother Earth, and only partner with companies who share our values in sustainability. We limit our waste and water usage, choose sustainable packaging materials, avoid plastic at all costs, and even find clever uses for fabric and thread scraps.

We know that hemp is among the most sustainable raw materials on Earth, so we are obsessed with making everything more hempy.

  • Rooted in Community

Cannabis has always been rooted in the community. Industrial hemp deserves a seat at the table too, so we plan to lift up other advocates, makers, businesses along the way. We’ve curated a collective of hemp-loving, eco-minded small businesses to offer consumers a variety of quality sustainable choices. We also produce our own products, though that is only possible because of our incredible hemp textile partners.

  • Restorative Justice

Along the way we must reckon with the racist War on Drugs. Restorative justice is a community responsibility, so for every item in our Merch on a Mission line, $1 goes directly to Last Prisoner Project–because no one should be in prison for a plant.

Together, we have an incredible opportunity to repair our relationship with a plant that we’ve been carrying around for 12,000 years.

You can become an everyday advocate for the plant too.

We actively curate a collective of makers to bring you choices that make your lifestyle more sustainable though plant-based swaps. Together, by adopting hemp into our everyday lifestyles, we are not just making more sustainable choices. We are powering a movement.

    Our Story

At Root for Hemp, we believe the fast track to adoption is to get hemp in the hands (and hearts) of Americans for everyday household uses. In an era of climate change, it can be hard for individuals to feel empowered to make an impact.

    Women Centered Business

Born in the era of the Barbie movie, the Taylor Swift Era, Beyonce's Cowboy Carter…Root for Hemp is proudly women-owned, women-led, women-funded.

  • It's Voting Season

In 38 states, it’s been the VOTERS demanding we free the plant. This freedom was not given to us by the powers that be. The People used our VOICES and VOTES, and together we made a huge impact.
