About our Fabrics
-
Fabrics Curated for Conscious Crafters
Root for Hemp searched the Earth for some of the best hemp fabrics available, and we’re excited to offer them directly to small-scale crafters, makers, and sustainable dreamers focused on Earth-conscious crafts.
Made from quality yarn derived from the stalks of the Cannabis sativa plant, this fabric is designed to soften over time while maintaining strength and durability.

Why Hemp is a Superior Fabric
Hemp is one of the most eco-friendly textile fibers available. Compared to cotton and bamboo, it requires significantly less water to grow, enriches the soil, and is grown without pesticides.
Hemp fabrics are naturally breathable, antimicrobial, and UV resistant. Hemp fabrics regulate temperature well—keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Hemp fabrics offer the unique benefit of becoming both softer and stronger with every wash.

What Goes Into Our Pricing
Choosing hemp fabric can feel more expensive than big-box alternatives, but it elevates your work with the natural strength, longevity, and benefits hemp is known for. Crafting with hemp means creating pieces that are built to last and better for the Earth.
Our pricing reflects our wholesale cost, import taxes, storage, cutting time, and labor. We’ve carefully considered each step and believe these prices are fair. To help keep things accessible, you can order as little as ½ yard.
